A soul died of exposure
in a child’s body
posed for obscenity
hidden from public view
by polaroid camera shutters
blocking the light of truth
Perpetually posed in rigor mortis,
the body is rented, purchased
returned and exchanged,
with or without a receipt
its value diminished
with each transaction
Its soul waits in vain
for the resurrection and the life
that would have been
could still become
with sufficient exposure
of society’s darkroom
Where secrets are constructed
to withstand the elements
in preparation for
the homelessness
of the over-used,
the abandoned-to-be.
